QTC, or Queer Tamil Collective, was founded in response to a significant need for queer Tamil voices in Toronto after the Snehithan Gay Men’s Group concluded. The absence of support was deeply felt, especially in light of tragic events that resulted in the loss of queer Tamil lives.
To address this void, a group of queer Tamil activists came together to establish QTC, aiming to create a safe and joyful space that affirms the identities of queer, trans, and intersex Tamil individuals. This initiative not only seeks to fill the gap left in the community but also celebrates and uplifts the diverse experiences of the queer Tamil population in Toronto.
